Event Overview:

Save The People is proud to co-sponsor a powerful and empowering afternoon of learning and community support focused on Muslim women and children. This free event will equip attendees with vital tools to protect themselves and others in moments of crisis, and understand their civil and human rights in public and private spaces.

Workshop 1: Bystander Intervention (Presented by Malikah)
Participants will learn practical strategies to safely intervene and support individuals facing harassment or violence. Malikah’s interactive training will walk through real-life scenarios and response tactics rooted in de-escalation and community protection.

Workshop 2: Know Your Rights (Presented by NYC Commission on Human Rights)
This informative session will help attendees understand their legal protections under New York City law, including rights around religious expression, public safety, and freedom from discrimination in schools, workplaces, and public accommodations.
